How to Apply for CERB

 

The Canadian Emergency Response Benefit is a generous relief package being offered by the Government of Canada to provide temporary income support to Canadians. 

 

If you have stopped working because of COVID-19, the Canada Emergency Response Benefit (CERB) may provide you with temporary income support. The CERB provides $500 a week for up to 16 weeks.

 

Who Gets It?

Any person who is a Canadian citizen, is over the age of 15, has earned at least $5000 in 2019, and has lost their job as a result of Covid-19 is eligible to apply.

 

How to apply?

There are two ways to apply for the benefit: 

 

Both of these services are available 21 hours a day, 7 days a week. Both services are closed from 3:00 a.m. to 6:00 a.m. (Eastern time) for maintenance.
