FreshCo - The history
FreshCo is relatively new supermarkets chain. It was established in 2010 by a parent company called Sobeys. Sobeys is the second biggest food merchandiser in Canada and it is owned by Empire Company. Sobeys is also a parent company to chains of shops like Safeway, Big&Beverages, Foodland, Lawtons, Price Chopper, Needs Convenience and many more.
The purpose of yet another supermarket was to offer the customers the best quality food at the best and most affordable prices. That is how the FrshCo's aim was explained to the consumers. One of the many advantages is that the discount shops are well presented and the interior design and decorations are complementing well the quality of products. FreshCo expanded very rapidly and currently, there are more than 90 stores in the Ontario region. Thanks to the popularity of the brand, the parent company is planning to rebrand even more of the subsidiaries to work under FoodCo banners. Shops are located in cities like Mississauga, Ottawa, London, Windsor, Brampton, Scarborough, Toronto, Oshawa, Kitchener, Whitby, Hamilton, Cambridge, Peterborough and many more.
