Easter during lockdown

Why not camp anyway?

Try camping in the garden. Pitch a tent, make a fire and roast marshmallows for the children after the barbeque is done. There’s nothing like the aroma of braai meat on the fire to get the taste buds going. After dinner roll up in a sleeping bag and enjoy the fresh evening breeze and the night sounds. One of the benefits of the lockdown has been a massive reduction in sound pollution, allowing us to enjoy the dulcet tones of Nature.

Keep connected

On Easter Sunday Skype, WhatsApp or Facetime the family wherever they may be. Most families have friends and relatives in all corners of the globe. Easter is a great time to make contact to find out just how they are doing. Keeping contact is also vital for the vulnerable, people living alone and quite possibly battling isolation.

Plenty to do

It is not often that families have the time to simply enjoy each other’s company. Usually we are bombarded with conflicting deadlines and tasks to perform. Accept this as a gift of time to share. Play board games, read to one another, set up a karaoke session. You’ve all the time in the world. For now.
