Government set up the Solidarity Fund was set up last month with seed capital of R150 million. The aim of the fund is to slow the spread of Covid-19 and to help people to recover from the physical and economic devastation of the Coronavirus. Professional organisations from the private sector will administer the fund.
Ordinary South Africans and organisations have been encouraged to donate what they can. All donations are tax deductible. To claim the deduction, you will need a Section 18A tax certificate with which the fund will provide you.
