Most people who have had a more extreme version of Coronavirus say that it came on suddenly, with very little warning. Some people report that they started out feeling significantly more tired than normal, and others saying they had a scratch in their throat that gave them a mild cough. Within a day or two of their initial symptoms, most people have the typical markers of the Coronavirus: fever, body aches, chills, headache, cough, and shortness of breath.

A 42-year-old Montreal woman was racked with coughs that left her gasping for breath and was burning up with fever. "I woke up with a little scratch in my throat and started trying to cough it up," she said in a phone interview. What started out as something minor quickly blew out of proportion. The woman who started out with a cough had a fever come on about 20 minutes later. struggled with burning lung pain, a cough and fever, and "body aches and pains worse than any flu I've ever had."
